THE MUSEUM OF MAGTYMGULI PIRAGY IN THE MAGTYMGULI REGION OF THE BALKAN VELAYAT

       The Museum of Magtymguly in the center of Magtymguly region of Balkan velayat was opened on October 17, 2015. The construction works of the museum building were carried out by the private enterprise "Hilal Marble". The museum consists of two floors and is distinguished by the modern architectural solution of building culturally significant buildings in the country. The total area of Magtymguly Pyragy Museum is 28570 square meters.

       On the first floor of the museum there are "Independence", "Nature" halls and "Magtymguly's literary heritage" hall and on the second floor there are "History and archeology" and "Ethnography" halls, a library and a meeting hall with seat. In the basement of the museum there are treasuries, workshops for processing and laboratories. In the "Independent" hall information, photos, records and various values are displayed that show the great achievements, economic and cultural development of Berkarar state in all its systems. In the "Nature" hall, the features of the fauna and flora of the state reserves located in the Balkan province, as well as unique natural monuments are widely described. In the hall of Magtymguly's Literary Heritage is a places where Magtymguly Pyragy lived, studied, traveled. Copies of his manuscripts and extensive information about the literary heritage increase the importance of this museum. In the section, dioramas that are placed, describe intimate creative relations between the canonical image of the poet and the well-known poets of his time. "History and archeology" hall presents the glorious history, life, culture and works of art of our people. In the "Ethnography" hall, special dioramas with information on agriculture, animal husbandry, hunting, carpet making, jewelry and pottery typical of the centuries old life of the Turkmen people widely reveal the rich and literary national heritage of the Turkmen people. In the square in front of the museum, the statues of our classic poets Magtymguly Pyragy, Gurbanaly Magrup, Mammetveli Kemine, Mollanepes, Gurbandurdy Zelili, Seyitnazar Seydi, Annagylych Mataji, created by master sculptors of the country were installed and this allows to create educational activities for museum visitors, especially young people.

       Launching the construction of a new building of the Pyragy Museum and celebrating the 290th anniversary of the great poet in our neutral country and the countries of the world. The Museum of the Turkmen Magtymguly Pyragy promotes the rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen for our future generations, the great poems of the great Magtymguly that will not be repeated and will not fade in the minds of the people. It will become a spiritual center that will be great importance in educating our young generation in the model of national spirituality.

1981
The Museum of Country Studies named after Magtymguly was established in 1981.
1983
On October 29, 1983, Magtymguly Region Museum of Country Studies named after Magtymguly was opened, where the museum exposition related to the historical monuments and life accessories of the region was active.
1984
Magtymguly Pyragy branch of the museum from 1984, the museum of the classic Turkmen poet Magtymguly Pyragy has been operating in Gerkez village.
2015
On October 17, 2015, the museum building of Magtymguly Pyragy was solemnly opened in the center of Magtymguly region of Balkan Velayat.
